The Band is the wrist wearable the subscription model skipped: the same optical heart-rate architecture as the bands you already know, with the data path pointed at you. Raw sensor streams over BLE at up to 400 Hz, on-device HRV and sleep staging you can read, replace, or rip out, and firmware you can build from source. Wear it as a finished product with the reference app, or treat the whole thing as a dev kit for whatever you are actually building — clinical studies, worker safety, a health app that finally gets a device.
